حیوان عجیبی که نفس نمی کشد!

دانشمندان برای اولین بار موفق به یافتن حیوانات چند سلولی شده*اند که آشکارا بدون استفاده از اکسیژن قادر به ادامه حیات هستند.

به گزارش خبرگزاری مهر، این موجودات در بخش عمیق یکی از جهنمی ترین مناطق زمین سکونت دارند: حوضچه «آتلانت» مدیترانه که به اندازه ای از دانه های نمکی انباشته شده است، که نمی تواند با آب اکسیژن داری که در لایه بالایی قرار دارد، ترکیب شود.
نمونه های پیشین برگرفته شده از این حوضچه حیات تک سلولی ها را در این شرایط دشوار به اثبات رسانده بود اما مطالعه جدید توانسته است حیات حیوانی چند سلولی را در این محیط بی هوا نمایان سازد.

دانشمندان سه گونه مختلف از این حیوانات کوچک را با نام «لوریسیفرا» در این محیط شناسایی کردند که با استفاده از نوعی آمینو اسید رادیواکتیو دار به نام «لئوسین» و نوعی نشانگر فلورسانت شناسایی و جمع آوری شدند. دانشمندان همچنین نمونه هایی از این حیوانات را مشاهده کرده اند که آثاری از تخمگذاری و پوست اندازی در آنها دیده شده است.
بر اساس گزارش نیوساینتیست، سلولهای این جاندار کوچک دارای میتوکندری نیست.
