گسترش لكه*هاي نفتي در خليج مكزيك، مرثيه*اي بر حيات آبزيان

با وجود تدابيري كه براي پاكسازي لكه*هاي نفتي ناشي از انفجار سكوي نفتي «ديپ واتر هوريزون» در خليج مكزيك انديشيده شده است، هنوز هم مقادير قابل توجهي از اين مواد در آب وجود دارد و با وزش هر باد و جريان*هاي آب به سواحل مختلف آمريكا گسترده مي*شوند كه اين موضوع موجب شده است تا رسانه*هاي بين*المللي از گسترش اين لكه*هاي نفتي به «مرثيه*اي بر حيات آبزيان و پرندگان» تعبير كنند.
به گزارش سرويس «محيط زيست» خبرگزاري دانشجويان ايران (ايسنا)، «تاد آلن» ـ يكي از مقامات ارشد گارد ساحلي تگزاس ـ در اين باره گفت: دريچه*اي كه براي كاستن و توقف از فوران و نشت نفت مورد استفاده قرار گرفت، تا*كنون تنها توانسته به ميزن شش هزار بشكه نفت جمع آوري كند. در حالي كه روزانه به مقدار بيش از 70 هزار بشكه نفت به آب وارد مي*شود.
اين موضوع نگراني*هايي را در ذهن فعالان محيط زيست و دوستداران طبيعت دريايي و اقيانوسي و از همه مهمتر دولت امريكا به وجود آورده است.
اين مقام مسوول خاطر*نشان كرد: لكه*هاي نفتي به حدي گسترش يافته*اند كه بسياري از مرداب*ها و تالاب*ها و رودخانه*ها به جاي آب از نفت سياه شده*اند و حيات در سواحل تا حد قابل ملاحظه*اي كاهش يافته است.
بسياري از پرندگان و ماهي*ها زير قشر ضخيمي از نفت دفن شده*اند و مي*توان نتيجه گرفت كه اگر روند نشت نفت به همين منوال ادامه پيدا كند، *تا چند هفته آينده، ديگر نسلي از گونه*هاي گياهي و جانوري در مناطق ساحلي باقي نخواهد ماند.
به گزارش خبرگزاري آسوشيتدپرس، *اين كلاهك و تجهيزات متعلق به آن از روز شنبه هفته جاري به ميزان 441 هزار گالن از مواد نفتي سطح آب را مكيده است و كمپاني نفتي «بريتيش پتروليوم» ـ BP ـ اميدوار است با استفاده از اين روش تا اواخر ماه جاري لكه*هاي نفتي را به طور كامل پاكسازي كند. البته بايد به اين نكته نيز اشاره كرد كه حجم زيادي از اين مواد به عمق آب نيز نفوذ كرده است كه پاكسازي آن نيز زمان زيادي را مي*طلبد.
به گزارش ايسنا، *ده*ها پرنده مرده و پوشيده شده از مواد نفتي در نقاط مختلف تگزاس و لوئيزيانا يافت شدند و اين رخداد به دليل گسترش لكه*هاي نفتي به وقوع پيوسته است.
گفتني است، اين مساله هنگامي به يك معضل اساسي بدل مي*شود كه تابستان از راه برسد. در آن هنگام است كه لكه*هاي نفتي سراسر خط ساحلي امريكا را مي*پوشاند.
همچنين كمپاني نفتي «بريتيش پتروليوم» روز گذشته اعلام كرده بود كه يكي از چهار مدخل ورودي سكوي نفتي خليج مكزيك را مسدود مي*كند تا نفت به سطح آب بيايد و به همين دليل بتوان به راحتي آن را پاك و جمع*آوري كرد.
به گزارش ايسنا،* از زمان انفجار چاه نفتي «ديپ واتر هوريزون» در 80 كيلومتري ساحل لوئيزيانا در 20 آوريل سال جاري ميلادي كه باعث كشته شدن 11 نفر از كارگران اين سكوي نفتي شد، به ميزان بيش از 70 هزار بشكه نفت به آب وارد شده و بسياري از گونه*هاي گياهي و جانوري را با خود از بين برده است.
