کرم ابریشم: Bombyx mori ( silkworm )

پراکندگی :

اینگونه تنهاعضوی از خانواده بومبی سیده می باشد این حشره به عنوان تولید کننده ابریشم در تمامی کشورها می باشد که یکی از این کشورها ایالات متحده آمریکا می باشد .

اهمیت:

فرایند تولید ابریشم توسط کرم ابریشم را سری کالچر می گویند که بیش از 30 قرن می باشد که روی آن کار می شود. اولین بار چینی ها دانستند که چگونه ابریشم را تولید کنند. ابریشم زمانی فرم می گیرد که لاروکامل، به دور خود پیله ای برای تبدیل به شفیرگی می تنند در این فرایند حداکثر 914 متراز ابریشم توسط یک لارو تولید می شود.

برای فرایند های تجاری شفیرها از بین می روند چون اگر شفیرگی کامل شود باعث شکستن ارزش فیبری ابریشم می گردد . حداکثر سه هزار پیله برای تولید یک پوند ابریشم تجاری مورد نیاز است.

ظاهر حشره :

شب پره سفید مایل به کرم دارای خطهای قهوهای کم رنگ در طول بال جلو می باشد. در بال آنها یک قوس حدود mm50 می باشد. بدن پرمویی دارد. لارو لخت است، دارای یک شاخک مقعدی است. شفیره بزرگ، تخمها سفید مایل به زرد و نیمه کروی.

چرخه زندگی:

شفیره ها اگراجازه داده شوند که به شب پره تبدیل شوند تغذیه نمی کنند، در طی 2 - 3 روز تبدیل به حشره کامل می شوند. در طی این دوره شب پره 300- 500 تخم می گذارد. کلونی ها در دمای 25 درجه باشند، لاروها در سن 6 ، 12 ، 18 روزگی جلداندازی کرده در طول دوره لاروی برگ های درخت توت به عنوان تغذیه برای آنها در نظر گرفته می شود، که هر لارو حدود gr 90 از برگ مصرف می کنند.
