مرغداران در سراسر دنیا بزودی ممکنست برای آنکه یاد بگیرند از طب سوزنی چگونه برای مرغهای خود استفاده نمایند تحت آموزش قرار بگیرند.
بنابرگزارشهای منتشره از سوی پروفسور لین- جن- شو ( Lin-Jen- Show ) استاد بخش علوم حیوانی دانشگاه ملی تایوان معلوم شده که این روش ساده سنتی از طب چینی در مقابله با کرچی طیور مؤثر واقع می شود. پروفسور لین تجربیاتی انجام داده که ثابت می کند طب سوزنی که بطور سنتی دامپزشکی چینی مرسوم بوده است می تواند از رفتار کرچی طیور پیشگیری نماید. این پروفسور خاطر نشان ساخته که مردم چین هزاران سال است که برای جلوگیری از کرچی در مرغهای بومی به استفاده از طب سوزنی می پردازند.
نامبرده گزارش کرده که اجرای این روش ساده در مزرعه مرغداری هم علمی و هم مؤثر می باشد. با این وصف، اعتبار گزارشهای مربوط به این طرز درمان تا این زمان بوسیله تحقیقات علمی مورد تائید واقع نشده است.
لین برای تعیین اثر طب سوزنی روی کرچی تعداد 60 قطعه مرغ بومی از نژاد تایوانی را تحت آزمایش قرار داده و در روز سوم کرچی، آنها را به سه دسته تقسیم نموده است: دسته ایکه به آنها باید سوزن زده شود- دسته ایکه باید تحت مداوای دارویی قرار گیرند و دسته کنترل یا شاهد.
پژوهشگران برای دسته اول در نقطه ای که بین دو سوراخ بینی و روی منقار مرغها است سوزن مخصوص را وارد نموده و آنرا تا دو روز در جای خود باقی گذاشته اند. در گروه دوم به هر مرغ یک تزریق از داروی سیترات کلومی فنس Clomiphence citrate (ماده ایکه برای تحریک تخمک گذاری در بعضی زنان عقیم تجویز می شود) انجام گردید. به مرغهای دسته سوم کنترل نیز یک ماده خنثی که معمولاً به عنوان نگاهدارنده ماده مؤثر در داروها بکار می روند تزریق شد.
بعد از اینکارها کلیه مرغها را به قفسهای انفرادی خود برگردانده آب و غذا در اختیار آنها قرار دادند.رفتار و توید تخم مرغ در آنها روزی دوبار تا مدت 60 روز تحت نظر قرار گرفته و یادداشت می شد. نتایج حاصله نشان داده که درمان با طب سوزنی کرچی را در مدت یک تا 4 روز قطع می کند ولی دسته ایکه با سیترات کلومی فنس درمان شده بودند رفتار کرچی در آنها بعد از 12 روز و دسته کنترل که ماده خنثی به آنها تزریق شده بود رفتار کرچی آنها بعد از 13 روز قطع گردید.
بنابراین، نتیجه گیری شد که درمان با طب سوزنی در این تجربه، بطور مؤثر از کرچی مرغ جلوگیری می کند ولی تجویز سیترات کلومی فنس و ماده خنثی مؤثر واقع نمی شود.
طب سوزنی در دامپزشکی علاوه بردرمان طیور می تواند به حل مشکلات تولید مثل در حیوانات، اسهال در خوکها و التهاب غدد پستانی در گاوها نیز کمک بنماید. لیکن می گوید این نتایج از تجربیاتی که درکلنیک انجام گرفته بدست آمده اند. کارشناسهایی که در زمینه طب سنتی و علوم دامپزشکی در چین سرگرم تحقیق هستند معتقدند که این روش سنتی هرچند که منحصر به چین است ولی چنانچه در سراسر دنیا متداول شود اثرات سودمندی در برخواهد داشت. آنان در عین حال خواستار حمایت های بیشتر دولت جهت ترویج و کاربرد علوم قدیمه دامپزشکی جین و همچنین تخصیص بودجه ای برای احداث یک مؤسسه تحقیقاتی - فرهنگی در این زمینه گردیده اند.
