تنبلی در سرما ( خواب زمستانی پدیده ای جالب )

بسیاری از حیوانات در طول زمستان به خواب طولانی می روند . آنها در غار ها ، سوراخ های زیرزمینی و یا در حفره هایی که در درختان ایجاد شده می روند ، تا از خطر دشمنان به دور باشند . در طول این مدت دمای بدن و ضربان قلب کاهش پیدا می کند . بعضی حیوانات در این مدت بیدار می شوند و غذا می خورند ،اما بعضی از آنها مثل خرس در زمستان اصلا بیدار نمی شوند و بعد از بیدار شدن بسیار گرسنه هستند .
خرس ها قبل از خواب آن قدر غذا می خورند تا یک لایه چربی زیر پوشست پوست آنها جمع شود و با اولین بارش برف زمستان به خواب می روند .
سنجاب ها و راکون ها جزء آن دسته از جانورانی هستند که در سرمای شدید بی حال می شوند و فعالیت زیادی نمی کنند . با افزایش دما به دنبال غذا می روند و خود را سیر کرده و سپس دوباره به خواب سبکی می روند .
گونه هایی از ماهی ها وجود دارند که به خواب زمستانی می روند . این ماهی ها انرژی خود را در فصل سرما از دست می دهند و حرکت نمی کنند. دانشمندان حدس میزنند علت این پدیده که بیشتر در ماهی های قطب جنوب رخ می دهد ، کم شدن نور خورشید در فصل زمستان است . چرا که دمای آب در تابستان و زمستان قطب جنوب تنها دو درجه اختلاف دارد و این مساله باعث می شود که ماهی ها نتوانند تغییر فصل را از روی دمای آب متوجه شوند. اما سوالی که پیش می آید این است که چرا ماهی ها در فصل زمستان به خواب فرو می روند ، در حالی که در این فصل غذای کافی برای آنها وجود دارد ؟!

جالب است بدانید که دانشمندان در تلاش هستند تا عملکرد بدن حیوانات را در هنگام خواب زمستانی بررسی کنند و از جواب ها برای انسان هم استفاده کنند !
مرکز های تحقیقاتی فضایی در پی یافتن راهی است تا فضانوردان در مسیر صفرهای طولانی بتوانند به خواب زمستانی فرو بروند . همچنین پژوهشگران بر این باورند که در درمان بسیاری از بیماری ها هم می توان از این پدیده بهره گرفت .
