گربه‎های مشهد عقیم می‎شوند

مدیرعامل سازمان بازیافت و تبدیل مواد شهرداری مشهد از اجرای طرح عقیم سازی گربه ها در این شهر برای کنترل جمعیت آنان خبر داد.
علی نجفی افزود: این طرح برای نخستین بار در کشور و به صورت آزمایشی در قالب طرح جمع آوری گربه های ولگرد صورت می گیرد.
مدیرعامل سازمان بازیافت و تبدیل مواد شهرداری مشهد، از عقیم سازی گربه ها به عنوان 'مرگ با ترحم' یاد کرد که به گفته او، با مجوز شرعی برخی مراجع انجام می شود.
نجفی گفت: 'در گذشته به دلیل معذوریت های مختلف شرعی نمی توانستیم این کار را انجام دهیم، اما با پیگیری های متعدد و استفتاء از چندتن از مراجع تقلید، این مجوز داده شد تا عملیات جمع آوری گربه های ولگرد صورت گیرد و چون معدوم سازی آنها با مشکل شرعی مواجه است، کار عقیم سازی این حیوان با روشی بهداشتی و بدون آزار و اذیت انجام می شود.'
وی در توجیه اجرای چنین طرحی اظهارداشت: 'وجود زیاد گربه های ولگرد امروز یکی از معضلات شهری است که به لحاظ بهداشتی مشکلاتی را ایجاد می کنند و از طریق پراکنش زباله در معابر و کوچه و خیابان، باعث نازیبایی سطح شهر و آلودگی می شوند.'
مدیرعامل سازمان بازیافت و تبدیل مواد شهرداری مشهد خاطرنشان کرد که اجرای طرح عقیم سازی گربه ها با همکاری انجمن حمایت از حیوانات و دامپزشکی صورت می گیرد .
وی در باره نحوه اجرای طرح گفت:'با استفاده از تله و قفس های مخصوص، گربه ها به روش زنده گیری به دام افتاده و در کلینیک مخصوص نگهداری می شوند. سپس با حضور چندتن از دامپزشکان متخصص جراحی ، عقیم سازی این حیوان آغاز می شود.'
به گفته نجفی، پیش از این، طرح جمع آوری سگ های ولگرد و معدوم سازی آنان به روش مرگ با ترحم نیز در مشهد اجرا شده و این کار با استقبال مسوولین شهری و شهروندان روبرو گشته است.
وی خاطرنشان کرد که بر اساس ماده 55 قانون شهرداری ها، جمع آوری حیوانات موذی از سطح شهر در زمره وظایف سازمان بازیافت و تبدیل مواد شهرداری است.
