مکانيسم اثر:

اين دارو به عنوان لاکساتيولوبريکنت، لاکساتيو مکانيکي و نرم کننده مدفوع شناخته شده است. پارافين مايع معمولاً به صورت تغيير نيافته عمل مي*کند، به اين ترتيب که با ايجاد يک لايه روغني روي توده مدفوع، باعث احتباس آب و نرمي آن مي*شود.

فارماكوکينتيک:

پارفين به مقدار کم از طريق دستگاه گوارش جذب مي*شود. اين مسهل در حقيقت در روده بزرگ عمل مي*کند و 12ـ6 ساعت پس از مصرف، اثر درماني آن بروز مي*کند.

موارد مصرف:

ـ درمان يبوست و پيشگيري از درد و فشار ناشي از يبوست در دوران بارداري.

ـ انباشتگي شکمبه، کوليک ناشي از احتباس مدفوع و يبوست روده*اي.

ـ براي به تأخير انداختن جذب سموم محلول در چربي (مانند کروزن و متالدئيد).

مقدار و روش مصرف:

اسب و گاو: 4ـ1 ليتر

گوسفند: 500ـ100 ميلي*ليتر

سگ: 60ـ40 ميلي*ليتر

گربه: 30ـ20 ميلي*ليتر

موارد منع مصرف:

ـ در موارد انسداد روده.

ـ دامهاي دهيدراته.

ـ دامهاي مبتلا به اختلال بلع، تهوع، استفراغ و درد شکمي.
