ميگوها نر هستند يا ماده؟

يك گروه از جانورشناسان در بررسي روي ميگوها به نوع خاصي در ميان اين جانوران دريايي برخورد كرده*اند كه در هم دو جنسي هستند و هم نر.

تقريباً همه انواع جانداراني كه از راه توالد و تناسل توليد مثل مي*كنند در دو گروه كلي جاي مي*گيرند. گروه اول كه گروه دو جنسيها يا نر- ماده ‪ hermaphroditic‬ نام دارند هم داراي عضو تناسلي مادينه هستند و هم عضو تناسلي نرينه و گروه دوم كه به گروه دو پايه ‪ dioecious‬شهرت دارند يا نرند يا ماده.

اما به نوشته نشريه ارگان انجمن سلطنتي علوم در انگلستان، يك گروه از محققان به گونه*اي از خرچنگهاي آب شيرين برخورد كرده*اند كه همزمان مشخصه*هاي هر دو گروه را دارند.

دانشمندان تاكنون بر اين باور بوده*اند كه اين گروه خاص كه با نام نرينه-دوپايه ‪ androdioecy‬شناخته مي*شوند، نماينده يك مرحله گذار موقت ميان دو گروه اصلي هستند.

امّا "استفن ويكز" و همكارانش از دانشگاه آكرون در اوهايو با بررسي ‪۳۳‬ هزار ميگوي مختلف در ‪ ۳۳‬نقطه متفاوت جهان به اين نتيجه رسيده*اند كه يك گونه اين ميگوهاي عضو گروه سوم، بيش از ‪ ۱۸۰‬ميليون سال اين حالت بينابيني را حفظ كرده است.

تحليلهاي تبارشناسانه در مورد ويژگيهاي بدني يك دوجين از انواع ميگوها حكايت از آن دارد كه اين حالت بينابيني با وجود وقوع موارد چندگانه*اي از رويدادهاي تطوري كه منجر به توليد گونه*ها يا انواع جديد مي*شود، همچنان بر جاي مانده و به بقاي خود ادامه داده است.
