روشي جديد براي بيهوش كردن حيوانات وحشي

يك دامپزشك انگليسي موفق شده روش جديدي براي بيهوش كردن حيوانات وحشي ابداع كند كه از آن مي*توان در همه مناطق و بخصوص در كشورهايي كه از حيث امكانات فناوري پيشرفته نيستند استفاده كرد.

دامپزشكان براي آنكه بتوانند روي حيوانات عملهاي جراحي انجام دهند ناگزيرند با تزريق مواد بيهوش*كننده يا با استفاده از گازهاي بيهوشي*آور آنها را به خواب ببرند اما اين روش در مورد حيوانات وحشي مناسب نيست زيرا در مورد تزريق تعيين اين امر

كه ماده به كار رفته تا چه زماني حيوان را بيهوش نگاه مي*دارد، دشوار است.

در مورد گازهاي بيهوش*كننده نيز از آنجا كه در اين گازها از اكسيژن طبي استفاده مي*كنند، دستيابي به اين نوع اكسيژن در كشورهايي كه از فناوري پيشرفته برخوردار نيستند مشكل است. از اين گذشته حمل كپسولهاي اين نوع اكسيژن در

مناطق جنگلي عملي نيست.

همه اين دشواريها يك دامپزشك انگليسي به نام "جان لوئيس" را به صرافت انداخته تا با يك روش ابتكاري به كمك همكاران خود در نقاط مختلف بشتابد.

اين دامپزشك كه بنيانگذار موسسه بين*المللي دامپزشكي جانوران وحشي است، در منطقه كيلي Keighly در استان يوركشاير در انگلستان مستقر است و از همين ناحيه راهنمائيهاي مناسب را به همكاران خود در نقاط مختلف جهان ارايه مي*دهد.

لوئيس از روش عرضه داروهاي خواب*آور به شيوه*اي كه به وسيله ارتش انگليس استفاده مي*شود الهام گرفته است.

در اين روش به جاي استفاده از اكسيژن از هواي معمولي استفاده مي*شود و در عين حال براي تمييز نگاه داشتن هوا از ناخالصيهايي مانند گردوخاك يا حشرات ريز نظير پشه، مبتكر انگليسي از فيلتر موتور سيكلتها بهره گرفته است.

اين فيلترها به نحو موثري جلوي ورود ناخالصيها را به درون موتور مي*گيرند.

دستگاه ابتكاري اين دامپزشك تاكنون با موفقيت در مورد شمار زيادي از حيوانات وحشي آزمايش شده و به نوشته هفته*نامه نيوساينتيست او قصد دارد با استفاده از محفظه مخصوص كه در آن مي*توان فشار هوا و رطوبت و دما را كنترل كرد، اين

روش را در مورد انواع ديگر جانوراني كه در مناطق آب و هوايي مختلف به سر مي*برند آزمايش كند.
