باكتري*ها در فضا خطرناك*تر مي*شوند

به گفته محققان آمريكايي، باكتري*هايي كه در فضا خطرناك*تر مي*شوند مي*توانند به دانشمندان در طراحي آنتي*بيوتيك*هاي موثرتر بر روي زمين كمك كنند.


به گزارش پايگاه اينترنتي رويترز، در اين مطالعه محققان دريافتند كه يك نوع سالمونلا كه موجب سمي شدن غذا مي*شود پس از سپري كردن ۱۲ روز در جاذبه نزديك به صفر در شاتل فضايي، خطرناك*تر شد و نسبت به اين باكتري در روي زمين موشهاي بيشتري را در مدت زمان كوتاهتري مي*كشد.

"چريل نيكرسون" از "مركز بيماري*هاي عفوني و واكسن*شناسي" در "دانشگاه دولتي آريزونا" گفت، اين يافته*ها كه در نشريه "گزارش*هاي آكادمي ملي علوم" منتشر شده است به فضانوردان و افراد آلوده بر روي زمين كمك مي*كند.

نيكرسون گفت، بودن در فضا باعث نمي*شود كه باكتري*ها كاري را انجام دهند كه نمي*توانند بر روي زمين انجام دهند، اما نبود تاثيرات جاذبه زمين به دانشمندان اجازه مي*دهد تا برخي از فرايندهاي طبيعي را جدا سازند.

گروه وي در سپتامبر ۲۰۰۶ فلاسك*هايي از باكتري*هاي "سالمونلا تيفيموريوم" ( (Salmonella typhimurium را با شاتل فضايي آتلانتيس را به فضا فرستادند.

محققان همزمان در "مركز فضايي كندي" در فلوريدا كشت*هاي همانندي را رشد دادند.

محققان هر دو گروه را از لحاظ ژنتيكي بررسي و بر روي موش*ها آزمايش كردند.

در اين مطالعه ديده شد باكتري*هاي فضايي نه تنها تعداد بيشتري از موش*ها را در زمان كوتاه*تري كشتند بلكه فعاليت ژنتيك آنها با اين فعاليت در باكتري*هايي كه به فضا فرستاده نشده بودند، متفاوت بود.

نيكرسون گفت، علت اين موضوع هنوز كاملا مشخص نشده است اما وي معتقد است كه اين موضوع ممكن است به دليل نيروهاي فيزيكي باشد كه بر باكتري*ها در فضا و در بدن انسان تاثير مي*گذارد.

اين يافته*ها به ساير محققان در اين موسسه ايده*هايي براي طراحي آنتي بيوتيك*هاي جديد داد.

وي گفت، براي مثال به نظر مي*رسد پروتئيني به نام Hfq بسياري از فعاليت جديد مشاهده شده در ژن*هاي اين باكتري را تنظيم مي*كند.

دانستن اين خطر بالقوه مي*تواند به محافظت از فضانوردان نيز كمك كند.

برخي مطالعات همچنين نشان مي*دهند كه پرواز در فضا مي*تواند سيستم ايمني بدن را سركوب كند و فضانوردان را نسبت به بيماري آسيب پذيرتر كند.
