دادن غذا به سگ به عنوان بخشی از تربیت

غذا نقش بسیار مهمی را در تربیت سگ ایفا می نماید. بارها دیده شده است که غذا دادن به سگ چگونه باعث آشنا شدن حیوان با نام خود شده است. با دادن یک تکه غذا پس از اجرای صحیح فرمان و یا انجام کاری شایسته، به سگ می آموزید که در صورت اطاعت از فرمان، پاداشی در انتظار اوست.

در تربیت توله سگ ها نیز دادن یک تکه غذا به عنوان پاداش فرمانبرداری، باعث تشویق آنها می گردد.

سگ را باید طوری تربیت کنید که از صداهای بلند مانند صدای شلیک تفنگ و یا رعد و برق نترسد، این تعلیم را می توان در هنگام غذا دادن انجام داد. پرورش دهندگان سگ های شکاری آنها را طوری تربیت می کنند که از صدای شلیک تفنگ در هنگام غذا خوردن نترسد.

توله سگ های گرسنه مخصوصا وقتی در غذا با سایر توله سگ ها شریک می شوند سعی می کنند تا حد امکان غذای بیشتری بخورند، لذا نسبت به صداهای اطراف بی تفاوت خواهند بود. تربیت کنندگان سگ های شکاری از این خصیصه توله سگ ها استفاده کرده و در هنگام غذا خوردن توله ها، از فاصله ی نزدیک اقدام به شلیک می کنند. تربیت کننده کم کم به آنها نزدیک می شود تا اینکه سرانجام در بالای سر انها اقدام به به شلیک می کنند، بدون اینکه موجب وحشت انها گردد.

توله سگ ها کم کم به صدای شلیک عادت می کنند و به این نکته پی می برند که خطری آنها را تهدید نمی کند.
از قوطی های فلزی خالی نیز می توان برای عادت دادن حیوان به صدای بلند استفاده نمود و در حین غذا خوردن توله سگ ها قوطی ها را در نزدیکی انها به زمین انداخت. کم کم به توله سگ ها نزدیک تر شوید و بدون اینکه موجب ترس و وحشت آنها شوید قوطی ها را در پشت آنها به زمین بیاندازید. اگر در اثر صدا یکی دو تا از توله ها از غذا خردن باز ایساتدند و مضطرب شدند، آنها را آرام کنید و از سر و صدای حاصله بکاهید تا اینکه دوباره ارامش اولیه را باز یابند. این کار باعث می شود سگ ها از صدای رعد و برق، تیراندازی یا انفجار نترسند و نسبت به آنها بی تفاوت باشند.
