گربه مصری

نژادی است تاریخی و تنها گونهء طبیعی از گربه های خانگی خالدار است . در مصر باستان مورد احترام و پرستش بوده .

تاریخچه:کلمه ماو (Mau) برگرفته از زبان مصری به معنای گربه می باشد. این نژاد هم خانواده سیامی ها (Siamese) می باشد.

امروزه در انگلستان این نژاد را گربه خالدار از گروه توبی (Tobby) می شناسند حال آنکه در آمریکا هنوز هم آنرا گربه مصری می نامند.

بر خلاف نامش زادگاه این نژاد کشور مصر نمی باشد ، بلکه شباهت پوشش خالدارش به گربه های مصر باستان این امر را سبب شده است.

پرورش این نژاد در اروپا به سال 1950 باز می گردد ، بعدها از اروپا به آمریکا ، کشوری که در آن جایگاه مشهور خود را حفظ نمود ، وارد گشت.

خلق و خو:این نژاد گربه پر جنب و جوش و ماجراجویی است ، باهوش و پر محبت است که از همراهی صاحبش لذت می برد و تنها ماندن را دوست ندارد.

بدلیل داشتن پوشش خارجی خالدار و بسیار زیبایش بیش از سایر نژادهای در معرض ربوده شدن می باشد ، بنابر این بهتر است تا زمانی که او را خارج از خانه رها می کنید ، زیر نظرش داشته باشید.

توضیحات:این نژاد دارای جثه متوسط ، لاغر و کشیده می باشد. سر دارای زاویه های گرد ، دم به اندازه متوسط ، چشمها بادامی شکل و به رنگ سبز مایل به زرد است.

رنگ پوشش در پنج رنگ قابل قبول می باشد که عبارتند از: مشکی ، دودی ، برنز ، نقره ای و مسی.

منشأ این نژاد مصر باستان است (mau در زبان مصری به معنی گربه است). گربه*های این نژاد بسیار سرزنده و فعال بوده و از بازی کردن با انسان لذت می*برند.

شانه زدن و رسیدگی به وضعیت موها برای زیباتر دیده شدن آنها لازم است. گربۀ نژاد مصری از لحاظ ساختار بدنی شبیه گربۀ حبشی بوده و اغلب به رنگ*های نقره*ای، دودی و برنزی دیده می*شود.
