نشانه هایی که دربیماریهای گوش مشاهده می شوند به شرح زیرمی باشد:

ترشح غیرعادی یا تجمع واکس ورم کردگی

بوی متعفن وزننده پوسته پوسته شدن یا شوره بستن

خارش کاهش شنوایی

التهاب گوش تکان دادن سر

کج نگاه داشتن سر دورخود چرخیدن

ازلحاظ آناتومی گوش شامل گوش خارجی وگوش میانی وگوش داخلی است. بین گوش خارجی وگوش داخلی پرده صماخ قراردارد. هرکدام ازاین قسمتها می توانند دچاربیماری گردند.

عفونت گوش خارجی: التهاب مجاری گوش خارجی به خصوص درسگهایی که گوش افتاده دارند شایع است. وجود رطوبت دراین نوع گوشها به دلیل نامناسب بودن تهویه داخل آن زمینه سازعفونتهای قارچی وباکتریائی می شود. باقی ماندن آب وکف صابون یا شامپودرداخل گوش انگلها واجسام خارجی وموهای زیاد تجمع واکس وهمچنین آلرژی می توانند باعث التهاب مجرای شنوایی گردند. گوش مبتلا گرم وملتهب است وغالبا می توان که درداخل آن چرک یا واکس را مشاهده نمود. بوی نامطبوعی نیزقابل استشمام است. بهتراین است که تا بیماری بدترنشده جهت مداوا به دامپزشک مراجعه گردد. این درمان شامل شستشو وتمیزکردن گوش واستفاده ازآنتی بیوتیکهای موضعی وعمومی است. عفونتهای مزمن گوش باعث ایجاد بافت اضافی درمجرای شنوائی شده وباعث انسداد نسبی یا کامل مجرای شنوائی می گردند. دراین قبیل موارد می بایست اقدام به جراحی نمود.

هماتوم:سگ هایی که دارای گوش های آویزان وبلند هستند استعداد ابتلا به هماتوم لاله گوش را دارند. دراین حال لاله گوش کاملا برآمده شده و ورم می کند. درواقع درداخل این برآمدگی خون تجمع یافته است. درمان این عارضه به وسیله جراحی است.

کری:سگها ممکن است که دراثرضربه. عفونت. دیستمپر. داروها. صداهای بلند وپیری کرشوند. برخی ازسگها کرمتولد می شوند ویا آنکه به تدریج قوه شنوائی خود را ازدست می دهند. درهردوحال علت بیماری مادرزادی است ویک یا هردوگوش ممکن است مبتلا گردند.
