تونکینِس

اصالتا به کانادا بر می گردد و در اوایل دههء 1960 از جفتگیری بین گربهء سیامی و یک نژاد از گربهء برمن ایجاد شد . گفته میشه که بهترین ویژگی های هر دو نژاد برمن و سیامی در این گربه موجوداند .

تاریخچه:

تونکینس حاصل آمیزش نژاد سیامی (Siamese) و گربه برمه ای (Burmese) می باشد و خصوصیات هر دو نژاد را می توان به خوبی در وی مشاهده نمود.

این نژاد بر طبق برنامه های پرورشی در شمال آمریکا ، در سالهای 1960 تا 1970 بوجود آمد و اگرچه در آنجا در سال 1975 بطور رسمی شناخته شد اما هنوز در انگلستان و اروپا به شهرت نرسیده است.

همانند نژادهای اجدادیش، تونکینس گربه ای است مهربان ، پر احساس ، پر جنب و جوش و ماجراجو و علاقه دارد تا به همه جا و همه چیز سرک بکشد.ت

توضیحات:

تونکینس دارای جثه متوسط است ( نه به کشیدگی سیامی و نه به کوتاهی نژاد برمه ای). موها کوتاه و یک دست ، چشمها بادامی شکل و صورت تقریباً گرد می باشد.
