زیست شناسان اعلام کردند زاغچه که از نظر سیستم بینایی و ساختار چشم مشابه انسان است از خصلتی مشابه رفتارهای انسانی برخوردار بوده و می تواند مفهوم نگاه انسانها را درک کند.

به گزارش مهر، اینگونه به نظر می رسد زاغچه ها توانایی درک نقش چشم را در ادراک دیداری داشته و یا در سطحی ابتدایی تر نسبت به زاویه چرخش و حرکت چشم انسان حساس هستند.

زیست شناسان دانشگاههای کمبریج و آکسفورد طی آزمایشی غذای مورد علاقه زاغچه ای اهلی شده را فراهم آورده و دریافتند این پرنده هنگامی که فردی به صورت مستقیم به غذا خیره می شود نسبت به زمانی که به نقطه ای متفاوت خیره می شود اشتیاق بیشتری برای دستیابی به غذا از خود نشان می دهد.

پرنده تنها در زمانی برای رسیدن به غذا تامل و تردید نشان می دهد که فرد نا آشنا یا تهدیدآمیز به نظر بیاید. در واقع زاغچه ها قادر به درک نشانه های ارتباطی انسانها از قبیل نگاههای متناوب و یا کوتاه هستند و از این نشانه ها برای یافتن غذاهای پنهان شده در هنگام آزمایش استفاده می کردند.

چشم زاغچه ها متفاوت از دیگر پرندگان دارای مردمک تیره رنگی است که توسط عنبیه خاکستری رنگ احاطه شده است. دانشمندان احتمال می دهند این پرندگان نسبت به چشمهای انسان و حرکات آن حساس هستند زیرا چشم در آنها مانند انسان نقش ارتباطی مهمی را به عهده دارد.

این یافته از آن رو قابل ملاحظه است که بیشتر گونه های جانوری یافته شده نسبت به چرخش چشم در انسان حساس نبوده و نیستند. جانورانی مانند شامپانزه و سگ با استفاده از نشانه های دیگر مانند حرکات سر و بدن با انسان ارتباط برقرار کرده و چشمها را به عنوان عضوی بصری به رسمیت نمی شناسند.

بر اساس گزارش ساینس دیلی، نتیجه آزمایشها نشان می دهد که شاید پرندگان از توانایی های ذهنی بالاتری نسبت به دیگر گونه های زیستی برخوردارند. زاغچه ها در میان گونه های دیگر پرندگان برای ادامه زندگی شریکی یافته و ارتباط نزدیک و همکاری قوی را با شریک خود برقرار می کنند که این همکاری نیازمند شیوه ای قدرتمند برای برقراری ارتباطی موثر خواهد بود
