گربه*ها مزه شيريني را درك نمي*كنند

يك گروه از محققان با بررسي ساختار ژنتيكي گربه هاي خانگي به اين نكته پي برده*اند كه گربه*ها فاقد گيرنده*هاي حسي لازم براي درك مزه شيرينها هستند.

گيرنده*هايي كه روي زبان اغلب پستانداران از جمله انسان موجودند مي*توانند مزه شيريني را شناسايي كنند و اطلاعات مربوطه را به مغز انتقال دهند و بخش مختص به خوشي را در مغز تحريك كنند.

گيرنده*هاي روي زبان داراي يك زوج از پروتئينهاي تي ‪۱‬آر‪۲‬ ‪ t1r2‬و تي ‪۱‬آر‪۳‬ ‪t1r3‬هستند كه به يكديگر متصلند.

زماني كه مولكولهاي شكر به اين گيرنده*ها متصل مي*شود آنها مجموعه*اي از واكنشهاي شيميايي را در درون سلول به راه مي*اندازند كه در نهايت به صورت يك علامت نشاندهنده شيريني به مغز ارسال مي*شود.

دانشمندان براي نخستين بار در دهه ‪ ۱۹۷۰‬در رفتار گربه*ها به بي*علاقگي آنها به مزه شيريني پي بردند اما نتواستند علت اين امر را تشخيص دهند.

اكنون به گزارش پايگاه اينترنتي نشريه علمي نيچر جوزف براند و همكارانش از مركز مونل براي بررسي حواس شيميايي واقع در فيلادلفيا در ايالت پنسيلوانيا موفق شده*اند

با بررسي بخشي از ساختار ژنتيكي گربه خانگي كه مسوول رمز كردن اطلاعات مربوط به دو پروتئين ياد شده است

دريافته*اند كه ژني كه بايد پروتئين تي ‪ ۱‬آر ‪ ۳‬را توليد كند فاقد ‪ ۲۴۷‬زوج پايه در مولكول دي ان آ است بنابراين نمي*تواند پروتئين مورد نظر را به نحو كامل توليد كند.

فقدان ‪ ۲۴۷‬پايه در ساختمان اين ژن در روي مولكول دي ان آ منجر به آن مي*شود كه طول مولكول پروتئين تي ‪ ۱‬آر‪ ۳‬در بدن گربه كوچكتر از حد عادي باشد.

دانشمندان دربررسيهاي خود در موجودات زنده از گونه*هاي مختلف دريافته*اند كه هر ژني كه وجود آن براي بقاي يك جاندار حياتي نباشد در طول زمان بيشتر دچار جهش مي*شود.

به عكس ژنهايي كه كاركردهاي حياتي براي يك موجود زنده دارند، بشدت مورد محافظت قرار مي*گيرند تا در ساختارشان تغييري داده نشود.

در بدن انسان بسياري از ژنهايي كه در سيستم بويايي جاي داشته*اند به چنين سرنوشتي دچار شده اند.

از آنجا كه وجود اين حس براي آدمي اهميت حياتي نداشته كاركردشان تقليل يافته و به اين ترتيب حس بويايي آدمي به مراتب از اين حس در حيوانات ديگر ضعيف تر است.

گربه*ها چون گوشتخوارند احتمالا نيازي به ذائقه*اي كه شيريني را برايشان مشخص مي*كند، ندارند.

براند و همكارانش در بررسيهاي خود دريافته*اند كه علاوه بر گربه*ها، ببرها و چيتاها نيز فاقد ژني هستند كه طعم شيريني را براي آنها مشخص مي*سازد.

اين محققان اكنون در صددند مشخص سازند آيا حيوانات گوشتخوار ديگر مانند كفتارها نيز فاقد اين ژن هستند يا نه.
