متاپنوموویروس انسانی سبب مرگ گوریل ها میشود

برای نخستین بار ، گروهی از محققین در آفریقا گزارش نمودند نوعی ویروس که سبب بروز بیماری تنفسی در انسانها میشود ، باعث مرگ گوریل های کوهستانی وحشی شده است . با توجه به جمعیت اندک این گوریلها ( 800 عدد ) مرگ هریک از آنها از اهمیت ویژه ایی برخوردار میباشد . این حیوانات در پارکهای ملی حفاظت شده نگهداری میشوند . اما محققین بر این باورند که چنین پارکهایی ، این حیوانات را به لحاظ مخاطرات بهداشتی حفاظت نمیکند . این یافته ها حاکی از آن است که برخی از انواع بیماری های اخیر و جدید نیز از انسانها به حیوانات قابل انتقال است .

بر اساس تحقیقات به عمل آمده ، انسانها و گوریلها در بیش از 98 درصد ژنهای خود مشابهت دارند . نکته ایی که سبب افزایش بیماری های قابل انتقال میان انسانها و گوریل ها شده است . موضوعی که سبب نگرانی های مسئولین شده است . در واقع ، جمعیت های گوریل های کوهستانی در منطقه ایی پرجمعیت در رواندا ، اوگاندو و جمهوری دموکراتیک کنگو نگهداری میشوند .
مطالعات بافتی بر روی گوریل های تلف شده در این مناطق موید این مطلب است که متاپنوموویروس انسانی ( HMPV ) دلیل اصلی مرگ این حیوانات بوده است . این در حالی بوده است که حیوانات ماده ، بر اثر درگیری باکتریایی پس از بیماری ویروسی دچار مرگ شده اند . بیماری فوق در فرزندان گوریل های ماده نیز شناسایی شده است .
