حیوانات به دلایل مختلفی از جمله جنگ و شکار دچار نقص عضو می شوند و از این رو با افزایش نفوذ انسان در طبیعت، میزان استفاده از اندامهای مصنوعی در میان حیوانات نیز افزایش پیدا کرده است.

حیوانات بر خلاف اینکه گاه به واسطه ابعاد بزرگ بدن، ویژگی های رفتاری و یا زیستگاهی که در آن زندگی می کنند، آسیب ناپذیر به نظر می آیند اما واقعیت این است که حیوانات به شدت در معرض انواع آسیبها و حوادث طبیعی و غیر طبیعی قرار دارند.
به گزارش راسخون به نقل از مهر، این آسیبها گاه به اندازه ای شدید هستند که منجر به قطع عضو حیوانات مختلف می شود و در این هنگام است که حیوانات نیز به اندامهای مصنوعی نیاز پیدا می کنند.
از دلفینهایی که دم خود را از دست داده اند گرفته تا اسبهای بی پا، استفاده از اندامهای مصنوعی حیوانات روز به روز افزایش پیدا می کنند، در ادامه برخی از جدیدترین حیواناتی که در پی حادثه ای ناچار به استفاده از اندامهای مصنوعی شده اند را می بینید:

فوجی و دم مصنوعی اش

فوجی دلفین پوزه درازی است که در سال 2002 در پی حادثه ای ناشناخته 75 درصد از دم خود را از دست داد و مجبور به استفاده از دم مصنوعی شد. در این تصویر فوجی در سال 2007 در حال دریافت دم مصنوعی دیده می شود گفته می شود این دلفین اولین دلفینی در جهان است که دم مصنوعی دریافت کرده است. مقامات آکواریوم اوکیناوا چورائومی می گویند دم لاستیکی به فوجی امکان شنای سریعتر و پرش بلندتر خواهد داد.

چرخها به جای دستها

هوپا، سگ چهار ساله ای که به صورت مادرزاد بدون دست متولد شده و یک دانشجوی هنر برای اینکه به راه رفتن این سگ کمک کند این تدبیر را اندیشیده است.

پای گچی برای یورتمه رفتن

یک گروه حمایت از حیوانات ماچو را در کنار جاده در حالی یافتند که پایش به شدت آسیب دیده بود و باید سریعتر قطع می شد، از این رو برای این حیوان پای مصنوعی از گچ ساخته شد تا بتواند به زندگی خود ادامه دهد.

لاک پشت چرخدار

دامپزشکان هرگز نفهمیدند آروا، لاک پشت آفریقایی در پی چه حادثه ای پاهای خود را از دست داده است اما این نقص عضو آروا را از ادامه زندگی باز نداشت زیرا دامپزشکان تخت چرخداری را برای او طراحی کردند که به لاک او بسته شده و امکان راه رفتن را برایش به وجود می آورد.

قربانی جنگ

متخصصان در آگوست سال 2005، یعنی 6 سال پس از زمانی که موتالا پا به میدانی پر از مین در میانمار گذاشته و پای چپ جلویی خود را از دست داد، پای مصنوعی را برای این فیل طراحی کردند.

با اینکه پانداها حیواناتی مهربان و دوست داشتنی به نظر می رسند، ظاهرا خشم آنها نیز می تواند ترسناک باشد، این پاندای ماده بزرگ در سال 2007 در نبردی با دیگر پانداها پنجه پیشین خود را از دست داده و در انتظار دریافت پنجه مصنوعی به سر می برد.
