سازمان فائو خبر داد: ريشه كني بيماري طاعون گاوي
به زودي بيماري طاعون گاوي كه مصيبتهاي فراواني براي كشاورزان آفريده، به كلي محو خواهد شد.
به گزارش ایانا و به نقل از سازمان خواربار و کشاورزی ملل متحد (فائو)، بنا به اعلام سازمان فائو: "در عالم بهداشت حیوانات، این اتفاق با فرود انسان بر روی ماه برابری می کند." ظرف 18 ماه آینده، این سازمان در کنار سازمان جهانی بهداشت حیوانات و دیگر نهادهای مرتبط، به طور رسمی ریشه*کنی این مهلک*ترین بیماری دامی شناخته شده را اعلام خواهند کرد.
این برای اولین بار در تاریخ حیات بشر است که چنین توفیقی در مقابله با یک بیماری مهلک دامی حاصل می*آید و دومین باری است (اولین مورد، آبله در سال 1980) که تلاش انسان موجب آن گردیده است.
طاعون گاوی به طور مستقیم انسان را مبتلا نمی*سازد. اما برای گاوها و چارپایانی که انسان برای کسب درآمد، غذا و استفاده از نیروی آن*ها در مزارع به کار می*گیرد، کشنده و مهلک است. در واقع پس از شیوع، درصد مرگ و میر به 100 می*رسد. عامل آن یک ویروس است که از طریق تماس با مواد آلوده سرایت می*کند.
طاعون گاوی در طول هزاران سال، با مرگ میلیون*ها گاو و وابستگان وحشی آن*ها به اقتصاد جوامع لطمات زیادی وارد ساخته است.
این بیماری از آسیا به اروپا انتقال یافت. در سال*های 376-386 قبل از میلاد ضربه مهلکی به امپراتوری روم وارد نمود.
در دهه 1700 میلادی بار دیگر در فرانسه شیوع پیدا کرد و قحطی شدیدی ایجاد نمود و به اغتشاشاتی که در بحبوحه انقلاب 1789 برپا شده بود؛ دامن زد. با ورود بیماری به کشورهای حاشیه صحرای آفریقا در اواخر قرن نوزدهم، 80 تا 90 درصد گاوهای این مناطق از میان رفتند و معیشت و رزق بسیاری از گله*داران فنا شد و آن*ها در برابر هجوم استعمارگران اروپایی آسیب*پذیر گردیدند.
در دهه 1920 از اسکاندیناوی به دماغه امید نیک در آفریقای جنوبی و از کرانه*های اقیانوس اطلس در آفریقا به فیلی*پین گسترش یافت و یک بار در برزیل و بار دیگر در استرالیا همه*گیر شد.
در اوایل دهه 1980، بیماری هنوز در سراسر جهان بیداد می*کرد و این بار در جنوب آسیا، خاورمیانه و آفریقا مصایب فراوانی آفرید. در دهه1980، 2 میلیارد دلار به نیجریه خسارت زد و در سال 1994 جان بیش از 50 هزار گاو را در شمال پاکستان گرفت.
پس از 1960، مقابله با این بیماری با تولید یک واکسن جدید به طور جدی آغاز شد. با وجود توفیقات اولیه، این برنامه دنبال نشد و بیماری را هم*چنان به حال خود رها ساخت. طاعون گاوی مانند ویروس آنفولانزای پرندگان و اکنون آنفولانزای خوکی، توقف*ناپذیر به نظر می*رسید.سازمان فائو از اواخر دهه 1980 ضمن برگزاری جلسات مختلف با مسئولان دامپزشکی کشورهای عضو تلاش*های جدیدی برای مقابله با این بیماری آغاز کرد. در سال 1994، برنامه ریشه*کنی طاعون گاوی در جهان(GREP) اعلام شد. این برنامه سازوکارهایی برای هماهنگی در سطح جهان برای مقابله و کنترل بیماری ارائه می*داد. در مراحل بعدی آموزش کشاورزان در مورد شناسایی و گزارش بیماری در سطح محلی انجام شد. همکاری سازمان فائو و آژانس بین*المللی انرژی اتمی باعث توسعه و انتقال یک فناوری جدیدی برای تشخیص این بیماری شد.
بین سال*های 1994 تا 2009، حدود 170 کشور در ریشه*کنی این بیماری کامیاب شدند و اکنون به نظر می*رسد که آخرین ذخیره*گاه آن نیز پاک*سازی شده باشد.
طبق اعلام فائو، افزایش تولید هند به دلیل ریشه*کنی طاعون گاوی از سال 1965 تا 1998 بالغ بر 289 میلیارد دلار بوده است. در همین دوره سود حاصل از افزایش تولید در آفریقا به 1 میلیارد دلار در سال می*رشد و بدون شک میلیارد ها دلار نیز عاید کشورهایی مانند سری*لانکا، پاکستان، افغانستان، ایران، عراق و ترکیه شده است.
رئیس بخش دامپزشکی فائو، غلبه بر این بیماری را حاصل سرمایه*گذاری کافی در بخش تحقیقات و هماهنگی جهانی برای رفع این معضل دانست.
