در صورتی که یک یا دو عدد از آنها را داشته باشید هرگز رفتار مناسبی نخواهند داشتهمچنین غذا خوردنشان هم غیر عادی خواهد بود و زود تر از موعد نیز خواهند مرد.

رنگ اینماهی بسیار شفاف است و تنها چند نقطه ی تیره در سر و قسمت زیرین بدنش وجود دارد وشما قادرید تا استخوان ها و ارگان های درونی بدن آن را مشاهده کنید.

بدن او نورینقره ای رنگ بازتابش می کند(ماهی به رنگ نقره ای دیده می شود) که این رنگ به عنوانعاملی برای استتار او به کار می رود.البته پس از مرگ این ماهی بدن او سفید رنگ میشود.

گربه ماهی شیشه ای می تواند تا 15 سانتیمتر بزرگ شود.دمای مناسب برای آنها 21-27 درجه ی سانتیگراد بوده و pH مناسب آنها نیز 6-7.5 می باشد.

برای تغذیه ی آنها می توانید از آرتمیا،کرم های ریز و یا پولکی استفاده کنید.ولی در غذا دادن به آنها به هیچ وجه افراط نکنید و توجه داشته باشید که گربه ماهی شیشه ای به آبی تمیز و شفاف نیاز دارد.

در صورتی که آنها را با پولکی تغذیه می کنید می توانید چند حلزون به آکواریوم خود اضافه کنید تا باقیمانده های غذا را (که موجب آلودگی آب می گردد.)مصرف کرده و به مواد بی ضرری برای ماهی ها تبدیل کند

شیشه ای به هیچ وجه به آکواریومی عریان و خالی از گیاه علاقه ندارد و خواهان آکواریومی پر گیاه و البته با فضای مناسب برای شنا کردن است.

برای دکور داخلی تانک این ماهی ها می توانید از چوب های آب آورده برای درست کردن مخفیگاه برای آنها استفاده کنید.

انواع تتراها،پلاتی ها،گورامی ها کریدوراس ها و... می توانند هم تانکی مناسبی برای آنها باشند.

آنها معمولا به تانکی با نور کم علاقه مندند ولی می توانید از تانکی با گیاهان شناور که به طرز مناسبی نوردهی می شود نیز برای آنها استفاده کنید

تکثیر آنها در اسارت بسیار معمول نیست و اغلب نیز به صورت اتفاقی می باشد.اگر یکی از افراد خوش شانسی بودید که در آکواریومتان تخمریزی انجام گرفت،

هرچه زودتر والدین را از تخم ها دور کنید و جریان مناسبی در کنار تخم ها فراهم کنید.می توانید بچه ها را با آرتمیا ی ریز تغذیه نمایید .
