خانواده: Callichthyidae

حداکثر اندازه: 3.14 اینچ / 8 سانتیمتر

تشخیص جنسیت: ماده های بالغ بزرگتر و بسیار توپرتر هستند. تشخیص جنسیت در بین نابالغین بسیار سخت است.

تغذیه: این ماهیان علاقه فراوانی به حفاری در بستر تانک دارند و این کار را به دلیل جستجو برای غذا انجام می دهند و البته هر غذای آماده ای را که حین جستجو پیدا کنند، خواهند خورد.

کرم خونی زنده از غذاهای محبوب این کوری هاست.

رفتار: صلح جو هستند. ماهیانی فوق العاده برای تانک های اجتماعی که بهتر است بصورت گروهی نگهداری شوند.

سازگاری: با خیلی از ماهیان می توانید نگهداریشان کنید. لوچ ها برای نگهداری در کنار این ماهیان از هم نوعانشان ( کوریدوراس ها ) ، مناسب ترند چرا که اندازه بزرگ آنها به حس رقابت بین این ماهیان بر سر غذا ،

کمک بسیاری خواهد کرد. آنقدر پر جنب و جوش هستند که بتوانید در تانک هایی که ماهیان بسیار فعالی دارند، نگهداریشان کنید.

این کوری ها ، بهترین گزینه ها برای تانکی هستند که مناسب منطقه زیستی رودخانه آمازون طراحی شده باشد.
