ژنوم پاندا از طبیعت گوشت*خوار این گیاه*خوار آرام پرده برداشت!پژوهشگرانبا بدست آوردن توالی کامل ژنوم خرس پاندا، متوجه شده*اند این خرس غول*پیکرتمام ژن*های مورد نیاز برای هضم گوشت را در اختیار دارد، اما از ژن*های لازم برای هضم غذای اصلیش یعنی بامبو خبری نیست.




گروهی بین*المللی از پژوهشگران در انستیتو ژنتیک پکن موفق شده*اند برای نخستینبار، توالی ژنی خرس پاندا را استخراج کنند. این ژنوم با بررسی یک ماده خرس3ساله به نام جینگ*جینگ بدست آمده است.
نتایجاین تحقیقات که در تازه*ترین شماره نشریه نیچر منتشر شده، حاکی از آن استکه پاندا حدود 21هزار ژن دارد که درون 21 جفت کروموزوم (شامل یک جفتکروموزوم جنسی) قرار گرفته*اند. در میان تمام پستاندارانی که توالی ژنیآنها تاکنون بدست آمده، پاندا بیش*ترین شباهت را به سگ دارد (با 80 درصدشباهت ژنوم) و شباهتش با انسان تنها 68درصد است.
شگفت*انگیزتریننکته در ژنوم پاندا، عدم وجود حتی یک آنزیم سلولازی است که پاندا را درهضم سلولز غذای اصلی*اش، برگ بامبو کمک کند. از سوی دیگر، پژوهشگران متوجهشده*اند که ژن T1R1 که گیرنده کلیدی طعم گوشت را رمزگزاری می*کند، به دلیل2 جهش، غیرفعال شده است. شاید این ژن غیرفعال بتواند توضیح دهد چراعلی*رغم آن*که پاندا جزو گوشت*خواران دسته*بندی می*شود، از رژیم غذاییگیاهی استفاده می*کند.
بررسیژنوم پاندا نشان می*دهد که در مقایسه با انسان یا سگ، با گذشت زمان دچارتغییرات کمتری شده است. بنابراین، می*توان چنین نتیجه*گیری کرد که تحولپاندا بسیار آرام صورت می*گیرد. پانداها را معمولا فسیل*های زنده نیزمی*نامند، زیرا شواهد زندگی اجداد پاندا در چنین به حدود 8 میلیون سال پیشبازمی*گردد.
اینتحقیق هم*چنین مشخص کرده است که درجه تنوع ژنتیکی پاندا دو برابر انساناست و به همین دلیل، پاندا شانس بسیار خوبی دارد که علی*رغم جمعیت بسیاراندک، به بقای خود ادامه دهد.
پانداهاجزو جاوران در معرض خطر دسته*بندی شده*اند. کارشناسان تخمین می*زنند حدود1600 قلاده پاندا در حیات وحش چین زندگی می*کنند. 300 قلاده دیگر نیز درمناطق حفاظت*شده یا باغ*وحش به سر می*برند.
