علاقه کرکس ها به غذای چرب

انسان تنها موجودی نیست که علاقه به خوردن غذاهای چرب دارد. محققان طی مطالعات اخیر روی کرکس ریشدار دریافتند که این حیوان استخوان های پوک را که چربی کمتری دارند دور ریخته

و برای مصرف خود و جوجه هایش استخوان هایی را که حاوی چربی زیادی هستند انتخاب می کند.

کرکس ریشدار تنها مهره داری است که قسمت اعظم برنامه غذایی اش را استخوان خواری تشکیل می دهد.

این پرنده قادر است استخوان های به طول ۸ سانتی متر و پهنای ۴ سانتی متر را قورت دهد.

شاید این کار در نتیجه یک فهم اکولوژیکی باشد، چرا که استخوان پستانداران به دلیل داشتن چربی زیاد، انرژی بیشتری نسبت به بافت های ماهیچه ای و عضله ای دارد.

کرکس ریشدار به منظور بلعیدن راحت تر یا حمل سریع تر، استخوان های بزرگ را از هوا به سطوح صخره ای رها می کند تا در برخورد با تخته سنگ ها به تکه های کوچک تر تبدیل شوند.

کرکس ریشدار یکی از معدود گونه های لاشخور است که از طریق نشخوار کردن، جوجه هایش را تغذیه نمی کند بلکه باقیمانده غذای شکار را به لانه برده و با جوجه هایش مصرف می کند.

این مطالعه روی کرکس ریشدار که در کوه های pyreness در اسپانیا ساکن هستند انجام گرفته است.

این کوه ها دارای محیطی بسیار سخت و شرایط نامساعد هستند.

محققان بر این باور بودند که زندگی در این محیط باعث می شود کرکس های ریشدار انرژی بیشتری نیاز داشته باشند و در نتیجه تکه استخوان های کوچک تر را که چربی بیشتری دارند، انتخاب کنند.

برای مشخص شدن این که آیا استخوان های بزرگ فقط به دلیل سختی حمل و بلعیدن دور ریخته می شوند یا علت دیگری دارد، مطالعاتی انجام شد.

همان طور که انتظار می رفت استخوان هایی که به هنگام خوردن یا جمع آوری از روی صخره ها و مراتع دور ریخته می شد، محتوای غذایی کمتری نسبت به دیگر استخوان های انتخاب شده داشت.

این موضوع نشان می داد کرکس ریشدار استخون هایی را که چربی بیشتری دارند، برای حمل به آشیانه انتخاب می کند.

پس محتوای غذایی استخوان ها بیش از اندازه آنها در انتخابشان نقش دارد.

نتایج این تحقیق می تواند کمک های زیادی برای حفظ بقای گونه های این پرنده در معرض خطر بکند. به منظور تقویت این گونه، مسوولان مربوط باید در برنامه غذایی آنها استخوان های مغذی با بیشترین چربی را قرار دهند.
