موارد مصرف*: ترفنادين* براي* جلوگيري* ازعلايم* ناشي* از حساسيت*، مانند تب* يونجه*و كهير بكار برده* مي*شود.
مكانيسم* اثر: اثر ضد آلرژي* اين* دارو
ناشي* از رقابت* آن* با هيستامين* براي*اتصال* به* گيرنده*هاي* H1 است* و به* اين*ترتيب* از بروز اثرات* هيستامين* جلوگيري*مي*كند.

فارماكوكينتيك*: ترفنادين* بخوبي* از دستگاه*گوارش* جذب* مي*گردد. به* مقدار زياد به*پروتئينهاي* پلاسما متصل* مي*شود وبه*صورت* متابوليت* در ادرار و مدفوع* دفع*مي*گردد.

موارد منع* مصرف*: در صورت* وجودآريتمي* قلبي* نبايد مصرف* گردد.

هشدارها:
1 ـ احتمال* بروز آريتمي* قلبي* بامقادير مصرف* زياد وجود دارد.
2 ـ از مصرف* همزمان* با داروهاي* كاهنده*پتاسيم* خون* بايد خودداري* گردد.
3 ـ در مصرف* همزمان* با داروهاي*ايجادكننده* آريتمي* احتياط شود.

عوارض* جانبي*: مهمترين* عارضه* جانبي* اين*دارو احتمال* بروز آريتمي* قلبي* است*. اثرات*تسكيني* و ضدموسكاريني* آن* بسيار كم*است* و معمولا با مقادير مصرف* زياد ديده*مي*شود.

تداخل*هاي* دارويي*: مصرف* همزمان* باداروهاي* مهاركننده* آنزيم*هاي* كبدي* مانندكتوكونازول*، اريترومايسين* و سايرايميدازولهاي* ضد قارچ* احتمال* آريتمي*قلبي* را افزايش* مي*دهد. استفاده* از تركيبات*ضد آريتمي*، ضد جنون* و ضد افسردگي*سه* حلقه*اي* اثر آريتمي*زايي* اين* دارو راافزايش* مي*دهد.

نكات* قابل* توصيه*: 1 ـ در صورت* بروزآريتمي* قلبي* مصرف* دارو قطع* گرديده* و به*پزشك* مراجعه* شود.

مقدار مصرف*:
بزرگسالان*: در تب* يونجه* و رينيت* آلرژيك*روزي* 60 ميلي*گرم* و در صورت* لزوم*حداكثر تا 120 ميلي*گرم* مصرف* مي*گردد.در حساسيت* پوستي* 120 ميلي*گرم* در يك*يا دو نوبت* در روز مصرف* مي*شود.
كودكان*: در كودكان* 6 ـ 3 سال* 15 ميلي*گرم*دو بار در روز و در كودكان* 12 ـ 6 سال* 30ميلي*گرم* دو بار در روز مصرف* مي*شود.
