تلقيح دام با اسپرم*هاي انتخابي، مناسبترين روش توليد دام با جنسيت دلخواه است
نتايج يك پايان*نامه نشان داد: مناسب*ترين روش براي توليد دام با جنسيت دلخواه، جدا كردن اسپرمهاي حاوي كروموزوم X و Y از يكديگر و تلقيح حيوان فحل با اسپرمهاي انتخابي است. مهندس عاطف مقدم، دانشجوي مهندسي علوم دامي دانشگاه گيلان در پايان نامه خود با عنوان “تعيين جنسيت اسپرم ورويان حيوانات” آورده است: يكي از اهدافي كه پرورش دهندگان دام از چند دهه قبل تعقيب مي*كنند، توليد دامهايي با جنسيت از قبل تعيين شده است ولي اين امر قبل از متداول شدن تكنيكهايي نظير تلقيح مصنوعي و انتقال جنين غير عملي بوده يا كاربرد آن مقرون به صرفه نبوده است. تعيين جنسيت مي*تواند به دامداران كمك كند تا بدون توليد حيواني از جنس ديگر، جنس مطلوب خود را به تعداد دلخواه توليد كنند. اين امر مي*تواند در عين كاهش هزينه توليد، سرعت پيشرفت ژنتيكي را نيز افزايش دهد. در بخش ديگري از اين پايان نامه با تاكيد بر اين*كه مناسب*ترين شيوه براي توليد دام با جنسيت دلخواه، تلقيح دام با اسپرم*هاي انتخابي است، آمده است: روشهاي مختلفي براي جدا كردن اسپرمها از هم وجود دارد كه اساس آنها مبتني بر تفاوتهاي فيزيكي موجود بين دو نوع اسپرم است. اين روشها شامل روش جداسازي از طريق سنجش جريان اسپرمها، جداسازي به كمك الكتروفورز، تصفيه كردن اسپرم به وسيله چند ستون آلبومين و استفاده از كاوشگر DNA مشخصه Y مي*باشد. در مقابل، مشكلاتي كه براي جداسازي اسپرمهاي نرزا و ماده*زا از يكديگر وجود دارد. تعيين جنسيت رويان (Embryo sexing) در مراحل اوليه رشد و انتقال جنينهاي انتخابي مي*تواند راه حل مناسبي براي توليد نوزاد با جنسيت مورد نظر باشد. در بخش ديگري از اين پايان نامه آمده است: روشهاي بيوشيميايي - ايمونولوژيكي ارائه شده براي تعيين جنسيت جنين را مي*توان به دو گروه تقسيم كرد. در تعدادي از اين روشها كه تهاجمي (In vasive) نام دارند، بايد سلول يا سلولهايي از جنين مورد آزمايش را نمونه برداري كرد تا بتوان با تعيين كاريوتيپ سلولها به جنسيت رويان پي برد. در روشهاي غير تهاجمي (Non-in vasive) ساختار جنين آسيب نمي*بيند و عواملي را كه وابسته به يكي از جنسها هستند، مورد شناسايي قرار مي*دهند تا به كمك آنها جنسيت جنين را تعيين كنند
