درباره شکل باکتری ها

تاثیر عوامل محیطی بر شکل باکتریها برخی از باکتریها مانند باسیل دیفتری ، هنگام تقسیم مانند ترکه درخت می*شکنند ولی از یکدیگر جدا نمی*شوند و اشکال زاویه*دار مانند الفبای چینی تشکیل می*دهند. باید دانست که شکل هر باکتری ثابت نبوده و با ساختار و واکنش محیط کشت ، دما ، سن باکتری و بعضی از عوامل دیگر بستگی دارد و هنگام تعریف شکل جوان آن را در نظر می*گیرند. باکتریها وقتی پیر می شوند و یا در شرایط نامساعد قرار می*گیرند اشکال غیرعادی پیدا می*کنند.
اندازه باکتریها اندازه باکتریها معمولا بین 0.3 تا 4 میکرون است ولی بطور کلی اندازه باکتریها همانند شکل آنها ، تابع شرایط و واکنش محیط کشت ، دما ، سن باکتری و بعضی عوامل دیگر است و اندازه*ای که معمولا برای باکتریها داده می*شود مربوط به باکتری جوان در شرایط عادی است. بعضی از باکتریها در یک زمان ممکن است دارای اشکال کوتاه و بلند باشند. میکوپلاسماها کوچکترین باکتریهای شناخته شده*اند ابعاد آنها بین 0.1 تا 0.3 میکرون است از اینرو با میکروسکوپ نوری به سختی قابل رویت*اند. مایکوپلاسما فاقد دیواره است و در نتیجه به اشکال مختلف یافت می*شود.

اندازه گیری ابعاد باکتریها اگر چه باکتریها اندازه کوچک*اند، با وجود این می*توان ابعاد آنها را به طرزی نسبتا ساده و آسان اندازه گرفت. دستگاه اندازه*گیری که میکرومتر چشمی نامیده می*شود شامل صفحه شیشه*ای گردی است که روی آن خطوطی مورج حک شده*اند. فاصله خطوط پسش از تنظیم در هر میکروسکوپ مشخص می*شود. برای تعیین اندازه باکتریها ، تیغک شیشه*ای حاوی باکتریها (اسلاید) را طوری قرار می*دهند که باکتریها در مجاورت میکرومتر چشمی قرار را با تنظیم آن از روی میکرومتری که در محل استقرار لام قرار دارد تعیین می*کنند
