جايگزيني باكتري خوارها با آنتي بيوتيك ها در توليدات دامي

موفقيت اوليه آزمايشگاهي در مورد استفاده از باكتري خوارها (باكتريوفاژ) مي تواند روش ديگري را در پيشگيري و درمان بيماري هاي دامي مطرح نمايد•
باكتري اشرشيا كلي موجب بروز بيماري هاي تنفسي در طيور مي شود كه به مرگ حيوان يا انهدام لاشه طي مراحل فرآوري منجر مي گردد•
باكتري خوارها، ويروس هايي هستند كه موجب عفونت باكتري شده و آنها را از بين مي برند•
يك فاژ خاص معمولاً مي تواند يك يا چندگونه مرتبط از باكتري را عفوني سازد•
دانشمندان تعدادي از باكتري خوارها را جداسازي نموده اند كه نژاد خاصي از اشرشيا كلي مورد هدف قرار مي دهند• فيزيولوژيست هاي طيور معتقدند برخي از بيماري هاي طيور توسط اشرشيا كلي ايجاد مي شود•
آنها از نژاد 02 باكتري اشرشيا كلي، براي ايجاد عفونت كيسه هوايي در جوجه هاي گوشتي، استفاده كردند•
زماني كه يك باكتري خوار قبلاً با اين باكتري مخلوط شده باشد، مبارزه جوجه هاي گوشتي با اين باكتري تسهيل و تسريع شده و حيوانات از عفونت تنفسي مصون مي مانند•
دانشمندان، بيماري عفونت كيسه هوايي را بدين علت انتخاب كردند، كه معالجه آن بسيار مشكل مي باشد• در عين حال ممكن است نژادهاي باكتري خوار ديگري پيدا شوند كه براي حمله به باكتري مناسب تر باشند•
باكتري خوارها براي اولين بار در سال 1915 كشف گرديدند•
اما تحقيقات در مورد استفاده هاي درماني آنها در خارج از اروپاي شرقي به طور قابل ملاحظه اي متوقف شد كه دليل اين امر استفاده گسترده از داروهاي آنتي بيوتيك، در دهه 1940 مي باشد•
محققان در مرحله ديگري از تحقيقاتشان به اثرات فاژها نه تنها در پيشگيري بلكه در درمان عفونت طيور پرداخته اند•
اين تحقيقات نشانگر آن است كه باكتريوفاژها مي توانند به عنوان جايگزين آنتي بيوتيك ها در درمان طيور به كار روند
