آزمايشي سريع براي تشخيص وبا و بوتوليسم

تست موجود براي بوتولين (نوروتوكسين قوي مسوول ايجاد بوتوليسم فلج*كننده) مستلزم تزريق نمونه مشكوك به يك موش و انتظار براي مشاهده نتيجه مثبت است كه با مرگ حيوان مشخص مي*شود.
اين تست چندان دقيق نيست و زمان رسيدن به نتيجه ممكن است سه روز به طول انجامد. اما پس از 72 ساعت مرگ قربانيان اين توكسين كشنده اجتناب*ناپذير است.
به گزارش ساينتيفيك امريكن، اكنون محققان تست بسيار حساسي را ابداع كرده*اند كه باعث مرگ حيوان نمي*شود و انجام آن فقط به 3 ساعت زمان نياز دارد.
محققان آنتي*بادي*هاي ضدبوتولين و كلرآ (وبا) را با تكنيك تكثير DNA كه در صحنه*هاي جنايي به كار مي*رود و تحت عنوان واكنش زنجيره پلي مراز يا PCR ناميده مي*شود، فراهم كرده*اند. با تركيب اين دو، دانشمندان مي*توانند مقادير اندك عوامل بيولوژيك موجود در نمونه*هاي ادرار، آب يا هر محيط ديگري را تشخيص دهند، به طوري كه حتي يافتن 10 ملكول بيوتوكسين در نمونه ميسر است.
