كريپتوكوكوز عبارت* است* از يك* بيماري* قارچي* كه* معمولاً در ريه* آغاز مي*شود و ممكن* است* به* ساير نقاط* بدن* گسترش* يابد. اگر بيماري* زمينه*اي* ديگري* وجود داشته* باشد، اين* بيماري* بسيار جدي*تر است*. اين* بيماري* در مردان* 60-40 ساله* شايع*تر است*. از زمان* آغاز اپيدمي* ايدز، كويپتوكوكوز به* عنوان* بيماري* فرصت* طلب*، شيوع* بيشتري* يافته* است*.

تاري* ديد
وجود پروتئين* در ادرار
اختلالات* ذهني*، مثل* گيجي*، افسردگي*، تشويش*، يا سخن* گفتن* يا لباس* پوشيدن* نامناسب*.
علل
عفونت* ناشي* از قارچ* كويپتوكوكوس* نئوفورمانس* . اين* قارچ* به* دنبال* تنفس* هواي* حاوي* هاگ*هاي* اين* ارگانيسم* وارد بدن* مي*شود. منشأ اين* هاگ*ها از خاكي* است* كه* به* فضله* پرندگان* آلوده* آغشته* شده* است*.
عوامل* افزايش*دهنده* خطر
مصرف* كورتيزون*، داروهاي* سركوب*كننده* ايمني*، يا داروهاي* ضدمتابوليت*
وجود يك* بيماري* كه* مقاومت* بدن* را كاهش* داده* باشد، خصوصاً بيماري* هوجكين*، يا ساير بيماري*ها از جمله* اورمي* (در اثر نارسايي* كليه*)، ديابت*، بيماري* مزمن* ريه*، سل*، سرطان* خون*، يا سوختگي* شديد.
بيماري* ايدز
پيشگيري
در صورت* وجود هر كدام* از بيماي*هاي* جدي* فهرست* شده* در بالا، به* پزشك* مراجعه* و تحت* درمان* قرار گيريد.
از لانه* پرندگان* يا تجمع* آنها دوري* كنيد.
عواقب* مورد انتظار
در موارد خفيف* ممكن* است* نيازي* به* درمان* نباشد.
داروهاي* ضدقارچ* معمولاً مؤثر هستند، اما بيماري* ممكن* است* عود كند.
عوارض* احتمالي
اين* قارچ* مي*تواند بيماري* جدي* و ناتوان*كننده* ايجاد كند. درموارد نادر، قارچ*ها از ريه* به* تمام* بدن* گسترش* مي*يابند و باعث* بروز زخم*هاي* پوستي* و عفونت* در استخوان* و كليه* مي*شوند.
درمان

اصول* كلي
براي* تشخيص* ممكن* است* اقدامات* زير ضروري* باشد: بررسي* مايع* نخاع*، خون*، ادرار؛ عكس*برداري* از قفسه* سينه* و استخوان*ها با اشعه* ايكس*
در مورد بيماران* غيرايدزي* كه* بيماري* ريوي* نيز نداشته* باشند ممكن* است* نيازي* به* درمان* نباشد.
معمولاً لازم* نيست* بيماران* را جداسازي* كرد.
وزن* خود را به* طور روزانه* ثبت* كنيد. در صورت* كم* شدن* وزن* بدون* توجيه* مشخص*، شايد بيماري* انتشار يافته* باشد.
داروها
داروهاي* ضدقارچ*. اين* داروها براي* عفونت* پوست*، استخوان* يا كليه* مؤثر هستند و در مورد مننژيت* ناشي* از اين* قارچ* نيز زندگي* فرد را نحات* مي*دهند.
امكان* دارد براي* مهار بيماري*، مصرف* دايم*العمر اين* نوع* داروها ضروري* باشد.
فعاليت
اگر به* نوع* خفيف* بيماري* مبتلا هستيد كه* نيازي* به* دادن* داروي* ضدقارچ* قوي* نداشته* باشد، تا زمان* رفع* سرفه* و تب* در رختخواب* استراحت* كنيد.
رژيم* غذايي
