گماردن بستگان مورد علاقه در پست های مهم در محیط کاری به لحاظ اجتماعی نهی شده و ممنوع است اما بر اساس نتایج یک تحقیق جدید روی عنکبوت ها معلوم شد در میان جوامع این حشرات، کار کردن با خویشاوندان می تواند مزایایی برای تکامل آنها داشته باشد. مطالعات و یافته های علمی نشان می دهد برخی عنکبوت ها وقتی با بستگان و خویشاوندان خود کار می کنند، همکاری بهتری با هم دارند و تلاش آنها در پیدا کردن و شکار غذا موثرتر است. در این پژوهش محققان در آلمان روی رفتارهای جمع آوری غذا در گونه هایی از عنکبوت ها موسوم به «Stegodyphus tentoriicola» مطالعه کردند. آنها عنکبوت ها را در دو گروه مختلف سازماندهی کردند که یک گروه کاملاً خواهر و برادر و گروه دیگر غریبه بودند. مطالعات و مشاهدات دقیق نشان داد عنکبوت هایی که با خویشاوندان خود کار می کنند، برای تقسیم آنزیم های گوارشی با دیگر عنکبوت ها انگیزه بیشتری دارند و در نتیجه در مصرف شکار بسیار سریع تر عمل می کنند. همچنین در شکار کردن نیز گروه های خانوادگی عنکبوت ها موفق تر هستند. نتیجه تحقیق جالب توجه دیگری که اخیراً منتشر شده نیز حاکی از وجود نوعی علقه و حس همکاری بین گیاهان خویشاوند است. براساس یافته های محققان دانشگاه دلاور در نوارک که با بررسی سه هزار گیاه «آرابیدوبسیس» انجام شده گیاهان دارای عشق خواهر و برادری هستند و خواهر و برادر خود را از گیاهان غریبه تشخیص می دهند. گیاهان، مواد و ترکیبات گیاهان مجاور خود را بررسی می کنند. گیرنده های ریشه گیاه با بررسی این مواد تشخیص می دهد گیاهی که در مجاورت او رشد می کند، غریبه است یا از مادر مشترکی پدید آمده است، اگر گیاه همسایه غریبه باشد، رقابت تا جایی که ممکن باشد بالا می گیرد. هر گیاه تلاش می کند با دواندن ریشه، تا آخرین ذره آب را به خود جذب کند و فرصتی برای رقیب نمی گذارد. پژوهشگران امریکایی می گویند در این حالت، گیاه با تغییر سیستم رشد خود انرژی زیادی را صرف گسترش ریشه هایش می کند، در حالی که اگر دا نه های هر دو گیاه از یک مادر باشند، این رقابت به نحو محسوسی کاهش پیدا می کند. گیاهانی که مادر مشترک دارند رفتار دوستانه تری از خود نشان می دهند و ذخایر موجود را عادلانه تقسیم می کنند. جالب اینجاست که در سطح خاک هم داستان تغییر می کند. در حالی که در شرایط معمولی، گیاهان از تماس با گیاه مجاور پرهیز می کنند، گیاهان هم خانواده از نزدیک شدن به هم ابایی ندارند. نتیجه این پژوهش نه تنها برای علاقه مندان به گل و گیاه کاری جالب است که می تواند در موارد دیگری هم کاربرد داشته باشد؛ مثلاً این پژوهش تا حدی روشن می کند چه زمانی دو گیاه در کنار یکدیگر رشد بهتری دارند.
