مدیر گروه آبهای داخلی بخش ذخایر بیولوژیک و ارزیابی موسسه تحقیقات شیلات ایران گفت: فیل ماهی با ‪ ۷۰‬سال عمر در آبهای شمال کشور و میکتوفیده با یک سال عمر در آبهای جنوب کشور زندگی می*کنند و به ترتیب طولانی*ترین و کوتاهترین عمر را در بین ماهیان آبهای شمال و جنوب دارند.
فرخ پرافکنده که در خصوص ماهیان شمال کشور صحبت می*کرد افزود: تاکنون مسن*ترین ماهی با نام فیل ماهی از خانواده ماهیان خاویاری با ‪ ۷۰‬سال عمر در شمال کشور شناسایی شده است.
وی اظهارداشت: همچنین جوان*ترین ماهی در شمال کشور با ‪ ۹‬سال عمر کیلکا به حیات خود ادامه می*دهد.
مدیر ذخایر خلیج فارس و آبهای عمان موسسه تحقیقات شیلات ایران نیز در گفت و گو با خبرنگار علمی ایرنا گفت: در آبهای جنوب کشور ، مسن*ترین ماهی حدود ‪ ۲۰‬سال و جوان*ترین زیر یک سال عمر می*کنند.
تورج ولی نسب افزود: مسن*ترین ماهی مانند سرخو و جوان*ترین از نوع میکتوفیده از خانواده فانوس ماهیان است.
