واکسن جدید برعلیه E. coli

به گزارش وزارت کشاورزی آمریکا ، ایمن*سازی گوساله*‎ها با هریک از دو نوع واکسن جدید معرفی شده می*تواند باعث کاهش مرگ و میر بر اثر باکتری E. coli O157:H7 گردد. این میکروب قادر است در دستگاه گوارش حیوانات تکثیر و نمو یابد ولی در عین حال لزوماً سبب ظهور علائم بالینی مشخص نگردد. در انسان ابتلا به این میکروب باعث اسهال و گاهی بروز سندرم کشنده hemolytic uremic می گردد.
دو میکروبیولوژیست به نامهای Sharma و Casey به نوع جدیدی از واکسن بر علیه این میکروب دست یافته‎اند. می*دانید که جلوگیری از تکثیر این میکروب در گاو می‎تواند در کاهش میزان آلودگی گوشت و انتشار میکروب در کود حیوانی مؤثر باشد. آلودگی منتقله از طریق کود ممکن است با یک بارندگی به سیستم آب آشامیدنی راه یابد. بعلاوه این کود می تواند باعث آلودگی میوه، سبزیجات و سایر محصولات گیاهی شده و احتمال شیوع بیماریهای منتقله از غذا را افزایش دهد.
یک نوع از واکسن جدید معرفی شده متشکل از سلولهای سویه E. coli O157:H7 فاقد ژنی به نام hha است. نوع دوم واکسن علاوه بر این ژن ، فاقد ژن دیگری به نام sepB هم هست. در هر یک از این دو نوع واکسن ، سویه E. coli مقادیر زیادی از آنچه به نام پروتئین های ایمنی زا شناخته می شوند تولید می کند. این پروتئین ها سیستم ایمنی را وامی*دارند تا از کلونیزه شدن میکروب در روده گاو جلوگیری کند و در نتیجه میزان دفع میکروب در فضولات حیوانات کاهش می‎یابد.
مطالعات بر روی این دو نوع واکسن همچنان ادامه دارد و محققان در حال پیگیری برای تجاری سازی این دو نوع واکسن هستند.
